Serotonin Effect.

Little happy news :

1.
I got back almost all my books! I still don't have time to check the lost ones, but I guess I should let them go and stop feeling sad for them. I'll cherish what I currently have. I will mend them back one by one with delicate care! ❤  It's like meeting all my best friends back in one go.

2.
Moleskine Asia contacted me and the exhibition will start next month, in March until April. I'll post updates on my doodle blog soon. *I visually imagine myself doing the rain dance around Moleskine and Borders.

3.
Big decision has been made and I'm praying for a smooth ride process.

4.
Finished first Hunger Game Trilogy and started the 2nd book. Personally I think, the journey was good. I love the straight-forward and simple words used *yes I know it's the target audience is young adult. It reminds me a little bit on Twilight series. If this movie will bring sensation to world as much as Twilight did, I bet it will bring as much haters too. People need to bear in mind that it was written for teenagers.
For relaxing fiction book, it did well enough for me and I liked it. Not as good as Harry Potter or Inkheart. But better than Twilight nonetheless. PS : I personally didn't put Twilight in my most unforgettable children fiction.

Lesson in my Life : 3

*

Cure the disease, not the pain.

My dad said, if you have a problem, solve it. Avoid running away or ignoring it. Eventually it will come to haunt you again.

Example 1 :

You know for a fact that you are not really that good in English. So you avoid using the language from the start. You won't make an effort to solve it. You put yourself in the same place, ignoring the obvious fact that you can change if you want to, it takes a little effort, but you choose not to do anything about it. You whine about it. You mock people that try to use the language.

But you choose to ignore your incompetence.

*

Avoid running away from problem.
I need to remind myself this.

My Weekend.

Last Monday, Awan was admitted to the Equine's clinic, for the surgery. The surgery was major and Awan survived! Infected organs were removed and she's on recovery, staying in the cage, miowing loudly. She needs to wear the collar for two weeks to avoid her licking the wound. She seems eager to come out and she cries badly most of the time when we were around. T^T

Cranky Awan.
No worries, I know she will be healthy in few weeks!

*

We are moving! Packing stuffs up on weekends.
I am super tired, and I need to stay up for another couple of hours tonight.

Us in new home.

*

Next month on movie chart! :
Hunger GameThe Lorax | The Vow | John Carter | Seefood

One-hour with : Da Vinci Machines.

*

Hello! Today after work, I went to Da Vinci's Machine Exhibition at the Mines Exhibition Centre (MIECC).  I've been wanting to go here since I saw the large banner in front of the Mines Shopping Fair. Personally, I am a big fan of Da Vinci's invention and I know for sure that I should not miss this. There were lots and lots of machine, one hour visit was not enough!

Ticket Price :
Adult = RM 28
Discounts = RM 18 ( students & pensioners )
Children = RM 15 ( 4-13 years old )

*

There were Da Vinci's reproduced famous artworks like The Last Supper & Mona Lisa, his sketches, other machines designs all the way from Leonardo Da Vinci Museum, Florence! So you should not miss this. I don't think you can get this close to his personal masterpiece exhibition ever again *due to how Malaysian don't really appreciate it much and there wasn't many people visiting this exhibition - as stated by the man at the counter & basic observation.
*

*

The famous cryptex.
As mentioned in the Dan Brown's book.

*

*

 Inside the mirror chamber.
I kept thinking that I might suffocate in this room.

*

The famous Last Supper and I.

Little Things 13 : Tin Soldier

Ah! A new little tin soldier for my growing family. He's coming home. Rat-tat-tat. Rat-tat-tat. He played his drum all the way home. I've always wanted to adopt tin soldier :D

*

 Rat-tat-tat. Rat-tat-tat

*

 Getting there, home!

*

Crossing jungle

Now they are together, safety home.
Tin Soldier & Red Riding Hood.

*

Little Things 12 : Finger

*

Do you know when you buy a new liquid glue, they put a cap looking cover so that the glue won't spill out? I use to take the cover out, draw a face on my pinkie finger and put it on like this :

*good night*

*

Little Things 11 : Doll

I am not a huge fan of dolls and bears. I think my first and last doll I asked my mom to buy was Barbie with the lime coloured skirt. I got that for my 5A's in UPSR along with a brand new bike. Even though I was turning 13 by that time. Since then, I never found dolls and bears interesting, as most guys thought one of the easiest way to catch girl's heart is by buying her teddy bears. No, in my case, I would dig for books instead :p

Well, last week, I found this collection of dolls for latest Happy Meal's toy while waiting for my Peach sundae at the counter. I bought her home right away. Right now, she's standing in front of me and staring blankly right into my eyes.

This creepy looking Red Riding Hood by Mc'Donalds! :

She can even close her eyes!

*

*

She seems beautiful and evil at the same time.
She can play with John the Merino Sheep after this.
^.^

Awan.8

*

*

Awan is currently at the clinic.
Her surgery was scheduled yesterday afternoon.
Hope she will be just fine.
I miss her badly.
T^T

*

Update :

Awan is home.
The surgery was fine.
But she is super degil and it is VERY hard to handle her.
>.<

Lesson in my life : 3

*

My dad said ;
"Sometimes in life, we need to do what we had to do. No matter you like it or not."

Although my dad seems to be one of detestable man I've ever known, I can't deny the fact that he is the most hardworking and work-commited man I can think of. He deserves the credit.

Awan.7

I love you so much, Awan.
Please don't die. Please.

Little Stories 7 : Controlled

*

Sometimes you don't even realized that you are being controlled by someone else.

Take this example, you go to KFC for lunch. They offer a set of snack plate for the price of around RM 11. You want to eat the chicken, you hate the taste of the coleslaw and you don't really  want the tasteless bread, but for what they offer in a meal set, you order things that you don't really want. And worst, you will have to finish off a glass of carbonated drink when you actually rather have cold ice lemon tea. You will need to add around RM 3 to change ice lemon tea from carbonated drink in the set.

You will end up eating the whole things.

It's not about quantity. It's about having what you really want without being influenced by others. It's just a simple concept most people don't really care. You fall to the marketing strategy they have planned. Not really a big deal, I know. It just left me wondering to myself - that's all.

*

This post is inspired by today's incident, when I chose to order only 2 pieces chickens and small ice lemon tea, and being asked by my colleague, why I didn't just buy the lunch meal set?

Awan.6

Last Monday I came home from work. My sister and brother said Awan was not feeling well. She won't eat, she won't go to the toilet, she miowed loudly all the time and she kept on wanting our attention. She hid under our bed whole night, sleeping. I was worried sick >.<

I saw some whitish discharge from her back side, and I googled it right away. I suspected she was having Pyometra, the life threatening uterus infection. I tried not to think much and asked my brother to bring her to the vet the next day *which was yesterday.

And I was right, she is having those infection and she is not feeling well. The vet said she needs to take antibiotic for several days, and see how it goes. If the antibiotic is not working, the infected uterus and ovaries will be removed in a surgery.

I am scared.

After Rene died, I mourned for several years before I was ready to accept another cat in our family.
I put Awan so close to my heart and now I am scared.

Current Project ( continuation )

Hello!

In this current project, I experimented on using my favorite Unipin Fineline with the mixture of Metallic Coloured Pens that I mentioned here. It went on smoothly and I'm loving it! :D

How are you loving it?

Post with No Benefits.

Be informed that this post has no benefits or knowledge.

*

Funny, I woke up feeling groggy. My cough was bad enough, *people would probably twitch if they hears it. Slightly dizzy and bad mood, maybe I woke up in the wrong position this morning. I guess when I thought I'm okay with accepting many stressful conditions at once, I can believe myself. But when my body don't really want to go along with my mind, that's when little problems came.

There are these house's issue, and the studio, and the work and freelance and personal stuffs came along with a mixture of my flight cancellation, and the lost of my precious things and little bit of pain and bitterness, and big decisions in life. All in all, I'm managing as well as I can. Well at least I'm trying, so hard.

And I chose to nag here. Here, in public. Because people only came here to poke my life, indirectly. I've tried to talk. Really. I have tried. People don't listen. It was upsetting at first. Because people don't listen. Everybody got their own stories to tell and everyone wants someone to actually listen. But the world has changed. Technology comes in. Communication is being directed in a different channel. And people are so accustomed to use this channel, to communicate. So I'm using it now.

I'm using my blog, to nag. Unprofessionally.
This post has no benefits, it doesn't help people. I just wasted 5 minutes of your time, just by reading this post. And I'm not going to say how sorry I am to show my nagging side *total turnoff. And I'm not going to say I'm sorry for being human. Hmph.

*

Little Stories 6 : Grey's *updated

I've started to watch Grey's Anatomy from Season 1 last few weeks ago. It is one TV series that I'm still watching, other than House. There were many nights with tears! *I guess I am pretty depressed lately - so I relate the series to everything.

Despite all the bitterness the series brought, I learned a lesson or two by watching it. On how to be responsible, on handling mistakes and problems, on forgiving and accepting, on choosing and comparing between several choices. Basic normal stuffs that I should have known, but it was kindly reminded to me indirectly in the series.

Very cliché nonetheless.
Being a human with mixed emotions feels normal for once in awhile.

Lets learn to let go.

*

Current Project.

*

Ah, I'm working on current project with Moleskine Asia.
Here is the sneak peek :

*

Oh yes, due to many request,
I put up a folder on things you can use to make your own doodle, here.
I can buy it for you, thus explains the extra charge on those markers.

PS : Be informed that most stationaries can be found in art stores, ok?
:)

Little Story 5 : I Found You.

Look at what I found last week ?
I was happy and sad and excited at the same time. Most of the books are the ones that I've collected in my early years of high school. That explains Anne series and Boy Talk *in the pictures. But those favorite books like my whole collection of Jodi Picoult, my Inkheart *that Ping bought for me, the hard cover one, The Book Thief! , my Harry Potter collections, were no where to be seen. Ah..

These are the remaining of beloved books :

*

I found this little one too!

Remember those days when you play this game where
you put it on the stair and it climbs up and
it will slide down and it climbs up again and repeat again!
:D

Book : The Red Tree

On my birthday last month, I received a surprising presents !
My fifth Shaun Tan's book : The Red Tree and an empty sketch book with Shaun's illustration on it :D I am very thankful and I really really really loved it. It smelt perfect!

Past posts on : The Bird King , The Arrival & Lost and Found.

I can't wait to read these books to my children someday.

*

 *

Ah !
5 books and 1 sketch book.

*

Little Story 4 : Shop till Drop.

This post mostly on random babbles and mere therapy session.

So I was depressed these few days. Big deal. I'll survive eventually *because I'm human, and human can adapt to its surrounding & environment quite well - my personal opinion.

I went to Ikea with my dad yesterday, along with my siblings. I suspected this : My dad called us and fed us home-made steamboat because he wanted to give me more designing & illustrating jobs and seeing I didn't have the heart to say no, I accepted anyway. Which is true. *I'm a good fortune teller, you can pay me to read what your dad is planning for you.

Because I was upset, I splurged my money on everything I feel like buying *not exactly everything, still eyeing on iPhone from afar. I'm not sure how much did I spent yesterday.

So, there goes :

1) A set of Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins * I typed her name based on my visual memory of the book, not by knowing the writer by her name, isn't it cool?

*

2) A tshirt from FOS - without any specific reason.

*

3) Card Holder - because I've decided to use something I like instead of trying to be lady-like with proper purse which I'm obviously bad at.

*

4) Kate Nash & Keane's CD which only cost RM 9.90. Pity pity.

*

5) Red blanket from Ikea - Which I originally thought of bringing it to the office. But decided not to, right now. Hm. But I don't want to share this with Awan. Awan tends to sleep on me every morning and her furs will stick on my comforter and I hate it.

*

Now I feel like laying down.

Little Things 10 : Food & the Worst of Me

*

By the time I was around 22, I stopped enjoying foods from Mc'Donalds. It used to be a place where my mind quickly beep' when I want to eat something simple, or hang out with friends, and such.

Now I can't even think of anything to order when I stand in front of the menu. If I stared at it long enough, maybe the person next to me can suggest anything to eat. Double cheese burger? I can't stand the sauce and dry meat. Fillet o' Fish? I had never, in my life, ordered that. What else? I have no idea. I end up eating Mc'Chicken, *I think that's what it is called.

*

I am a choosy picky eater. One of the worst.

I don't really enjoy eating other than white rice. eg : Nasi lemak, beriani, kerabu, minyak, arab, and such. I only love the taste of white rice. I don't even mix my white rice with any 'kuah lauk' except for soup.

I don't eat kuih. Not even during Ramadhan. Except popiah. So if I go to Pasar Ramadhan, I end up buying only one thing that I feel like eating. Sometimes I don't even buy any. *that's why my weight will drop rapidly during fasting season.

During Raya, I only eat Tart Nenas *my dad's favorite & Bangkit Bunga Cina *my mom's favorite.

If I eat keropok lekor, I hardly dip it into the sauce, ditto while eating fried chickens. I just don't eat sauce. I don't like to mix it up.

I can survive every morning eating the same breakfast ie : 1 bread + fried egg + cheese. And juice @ milk @ Nescafe.

I don't eat potato chips because I dislike the salty taste.
But I do eat Roller Coaster & Chipster.

I eat one chocolate daily. One, as in one small piece, like someone would take a pill. Because chocolate can make me happy, and I have quite an amusing discipline on chocolate consumption. I keep it in my mouth and let it melt as long as it can.

*

Despite my weird taste of food, I don't really complain what's on the table. No, actually I don't complain at all. I just choose to eat it a little. And sometimes, it bothers my mom. Or my siblings, or even people around me :D

PS : I envy people that enjoy everything they eat!
I wonder how they do that.

Oh, how about you? Any fussy likings on foods?

Little Story 3 : Moleskine & I

*

I received a package from Hong Kong yesterday with several Moleskine notebooks for me to customize. I was super excited when Moleskine Asia contacted me. I got two weeks to work on it. So, I'll be pretty busy! :D

More updates will be posted soon, I hope.
Event will be in March.

Travel : Fraser's Hill 2

Archery

One of the activities that you should try when you go to Fraser's Hill is archery. You can go to the Paddock and pay RM 8 for 12 shots. You can go early in the morning while there's no one lining up and get 13 shots *if you are lucky like us. If you succeed and shot the middle dot, you will get extra 5 more arrows. *no, I didn't get any extra arrows.

Trying something new is exhilarating and I should probably find new things to try every month! Just to get the adrenalines rush.

Tips :

1. My colleagues said he aimed at the middle dot using the tip of his arrow visually before shooting. *which I failed to do.

2. If you have weak hand and you are shaking badly, put your hand on your right cheek to make it less shaky. That is also a great indication telling you should workout a little :p

3. Be patient, take your time, ignore laughs and mockery. You have the "first time" badge for a reason, use it well.

 Those were my colleagues, waiting.

*

PS : I should really try rock climbing in near future.
Putting this in the list.

Interview : In the making

Last week, I was interviewed by Celebrate TV and met Hafiz Flyz.fm!
It was another great exposure to me, this year.
Hoping for another open doors in the future, Amin~
